MANIFESTO

We aim for Deadlift to Smash the Patriarchy to be a day to raise awareness of the issues women face everyday and be an event to celebrate the strength of women everywhere.

We believe in the fundamental right to equality for women, regardless of race, class, gender identity, or sexual orientation.

We acknowledge the systemic subjugation of all women and even in that, the oppression that women experience is further marred by issues of ethnicity, gender identity, and sexual orientation that affect each individual woman differently.

We acknowledge the climate of violence and fear created by men. We acknowledge the professional and financial inequalities imposed on women through the unfair wage gap.

We acknowledge the oppression of our sisters, nieces, daughters, mothers, grandmothers, colleagues, and friends. And we believe these injustices to be grave, life-threatening, and deserving of national attention.
